MAMA
In the project «MAMA», Anna Samoylova uses textiles, embroidery, and folklore to reflect on modern motherhood against a backdrop of global crises and emigration. Through symbolic imagery like dark lupines and red stitching, she explores the physical reality, invisible labor, and domestic rituals of maternal life. Ultimately, the project functions as a courageous first-person dialogue, questioning how a woman artist can address motherhood today while navigating the inevitable separation from her child.
